Customizing the plain old tee, a simple and quick way to do this is with bleach. I decided to test this out with a nice inexpensive pack of Fruit of the Loom t-shirts. Now there are a couple of ways to do bleached designs, you can use a bleach pen, toilet bowl cleaner, and plain bleach (each product I tried was Clorox brand, but any brand should be fine).

I love my life, being stationed in a different country is challenging at times but well worth it! So to get started on reinventing some of my living spaces I decided to hit up the kitchen first (considering its one of my favorite spaces). First had to come up with a color scheme since my kitchen already has a flare for grey and white I figured lets roll with that and add a touch of natural bamboo, and black. So my first project is "Our Menu" board: My inspiration came from a nifty blog called "Two In Diapers." I felt like we were eating the same old same old every two weeks and my husband never wanted to help contribute ideas on what to cook. Making this little board a genius idea, since we pull out about five meal cards, one eat out and one left over card each week. It's nice to see my husband getting excited to help plan our meals. Part two of American-Mexican dishes, this dish is simple and very flavorful. With the first bite my husband said WOW its got some Kick! He then proceeded to eat everything from his plate and practically licked it clean. So clearly I did something right with this dish. To top it off I used the left over tortilla pieces from the taco cups to make homemade chips. This dish is great when topped with some salsa, sour cream and green onions! I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of Mexican food, even though I grew up in an area with plenty of it. But this simple Mexican inspired dish is nothing but delicious. So lets get cooking... Note: make sure you have a round cookie cutter before hand about 4" diameter for use with standard muffin tins. |
