Please note that the lacing is stiff and can cause irritation to your hands while crocheting. I did have to take breaks in between or used band-aids to stop the wear on my skin since I weave my yarn/lacing through my left hand to keep tension and even stitches. But it was an easy price to pay for a cool Halloween decoration. I have provided a free PDF pattern at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!
Halloween is less than a month away and I have already started the decorating process. Like a friend of mine said if they are already selling Halloween stuff in July/August, then it's fair game to start decorating. This project is pretty easy since its mainly chaining. This is part one of my spooky friends line up, and I am kicking it off with my Spooky Friend Halloween Wreath. This project originally started as cup cozies and only as Frankenstein and the Jack-O-Lantern but as you can see inspiration struck and the project just simply grew. By the time I finished making all the cozy bases I then decided I need to make a matching table runner and so on. This small little project became a big project as you can seeing. I am super excited today, after having so much fun cleaning (not!) to find out that my new crochet hooks finally arrived in the mail. What a great pick me up, right? I have been using Boye and Susan Bates hooks since I first learned to crochet. I think my grandmother would have been so happy to know that I still crochet for one but have taken it to the level of being one of my favorite hobbies. |
