I love my life, being stationed in a different country is challenging at times but well worth it! So to get started on reinventing some of my living spaces I decided to hit up the kitchen first (considering its one of my favorite spaces).
First had to come up with a color scheme since my kitchen already has a flare for grey and white I figured lets roll with that and add a touch of natural bamboo, and black.
So my first project is "Our Menu" board:
My inspiration came from a nifty blog called "Two In Diapers." I felt like we were eating the same old same old every two weeks and my husband never wanted to help contribute ideas on what to cook. Making this little board a genius idea, since we pull out about five meal cards, one eat out and one left over card each week. It's nice to see my husband getting excited to help plan our meals.

So to make the board this is what I used:
Supplies Needed: (1) Picture Frame Index Card/Card Stock
(7) Mini Clothes Pins Hot Glue Gun & Glue
(2) Menu Card Holders Printer (Laminating supplies are optional)
I found the frame, mini clothes pins, pencil holder all at the Daiso (an equivalent to dollar stores), and for the card stock I used 4x6 no line index cards (also under a dollar). For the background I just used the original insert and flipped it over picked out my favorite digital scrapbook paper and adjusted the color for my new color scheme and Viola! The "Our Menu" portion was just printed on normal paper and stuck on with double sided tape to avoid any imperfections to the paper.
To create the menu cards I used Microsoft Excel and adjusted for the index card size and divided it accordingly to the space I had available which allotted me six cards per page. Not bad, right? I used my trusting hot glue gun to adhere the pencil holders. The reason two holders are needed is simple on holds what hasn't been made and the other what has been made. I will be adding custom holders on to divide the recipes, eat outs and leftovers later, but for now the pencil holders work perfectly.

So here's the recap on cost the whole project came out to $6.00 (figuring in ink as well)! All you need to do is add your favorite recipes plus new ones to try out, places to eat out, and don't forget those left overs. I believe I am running with about 57 recipes right now and hopefully more to come.
